Providing strategic advice and decision support for the programme

Sector
Contract Value
Value of the programme is c£20bn with strategic aims of being able to increase the outputs to support up to 12 Nuclear Attack Submarines plus 4 Nuclear Ballistic Missile Submarines. This involves a complete restructure of all base outputs and operations. It is also underpinned by significant infrastructure programmes to provide new and additional berthing, docking, maintenance and ammunitioning facilities. There will also be a need to accommodate a significant step up of c30% in military and industry resources.
Our assignment has several focus areas. Firstly, to support the MoD in decision making around sequencing and prioritisation of the transformation programme and its supporting infrastructure activities. Secondly to gather, analyse and propose sentencing on potential new scope to be added to the multi-decade programme. Thirdly to provide coherence through a stakeholder and communications programme.
The challenges we face focus on managing the complexity of the programme, making clear decisions where there is significant uncertainty and ensuring those decisions take into account the potential significant disruption of major infrastructure projects on the vital to defence base outputs.
